Abstract
The Union submits that the Employer's standard for speed and accuracy on the encoder machines which must be reached within 80 hours of training is unreasonable and limiting to seniority rights of transfer. It is not enough time to provide sufficient and adequate training and they want the training period extended to six months. The Employer gave evidence that most employees attain the standard within 80 hours, and claimed the machines now used are easier to use than those in place when the 80 hour limit was imposed.
