Abstract
The grievance arises out of the major restructuring of letter carrier routes in St. John's to provide for the widespread introduction of mailmobile carriers, working in partnership with walking letter carriers. The Union requests that the restructure be declared invalid and that the Employer be ordered to redo the restructure properly, applying the Manual of Letter Carrier Route Measurement, and paying damages to any adversely affected employees. They submit nine specific points of disagreement pertaining to the physical characteristics of a particular route. They also object that the Union observers had not been properly involved in the restructuring process.
