Abstract
The Grievor was denied special leave during the snowstorm of March 11 at Moncton. A quarter mile from home and ten miles from work, her car skidded into the ditch. When a neighbour refused to drive her to work, she phoned in. RCMP radio announcements were asking the public to stay off the roads. However, taxis were operating, no other employees were given special leave, and the Grievor had been denied a similar request on the preceding shift (see decision 87-042).
