Abstract
This is a union grievance alleging that the Employer breached the Collective Agreement by applying the wrong wage schedule to a certain group of employees. The schedule preferred by the Union dealt with "shutdown" work. The remedy requested is an order for compensation of all wages and benefits lost due to this breach. The Employer viewed the work as "maintenance".
The grievance fails. A review of the relevant clauses in the Collective Agreement supported the Employer's interpretation.
