Abstract
It is easy to become discouraged by the depth of the social problems which lead to sad and ineffective interactions between mental health consumers and the justice system. However, despite the odds, there are positive measures which can be taken to begin making progress. What follows is a range of suggestions for the development of initiatives in our local community, where the Bar may assume a leadership role.
