Abstract
Personal health information has received a great deal of attention in the past 20 years, both from legislatures and at common law. Statutes directly focused on information (whether health-specific or general or both) have been passed federally and in each province. It is encouraging that the need for protection of health information has been acknowledged and acted upon, but there remain limits and barriers to there protections.
