Abstract
The grievance alleges failure by the Employer to recognize the Grievor's entitlements under the previous Collective Agreement. At issue is whether the Grievor, by virtue of being employed on consecutive contracts of 19 days or less, gained status as a term employee employed for three months or more, and the rights that go with it. The current Agreement provides for a new system of seniority for temporary employees that governs their rights to available temporary work and the filling of vacant regular positions. In supporting the Grievor's claim, the Union is taking a stance that may adversely affect others of its members.
